Buying a used vehicle is one of the biggest financial decisions you can make, and it comes with real risk if you do not know what you are getting. A vehicle can look great on the outside and still have serious mechanical issues hiding underneath. At Martel Automotive Services, we perform thorough pre-purchase inspections to give our customers the confidence they need before signing on the dotted line.
We offer used car inspections as a service for our existing customers. Whether you found a vehicle at a dealership, through a private seller, or at an auction, we can inspect it before you commit. Our technicians will go through the vehicle from top to bottom and give you an honest assessment of its condition.
WHY A PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION MATTERS
A used vehicle that seems like a great deal can quickly become a costly mistake if it has hidden problems. Issues like a failing transmission, engine wear, frame damage from a prior accident, or unresolved fault codes can cost thousands of dollars to repair. A pre-purchase inspection is a small investment that can save you from a very expensive surprise.
WHAT WE CHECK
Our inspection covers all the major systems of the vehicle. We start with a full computer diagnostic scan to check for any stored or pending fault codes that may not be triggering a warning light yet. From there we inspect the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, steering, tires, fluids, electrical systems, and the undercarriage for signs of rust, damage, or prior bodywork.
We will tell you exactly what we find. If the vehicle is in great shape, you will know it. If there are issues, you will know those too, along with a general idea of what they might cost to fix. That information puts you in control of the negotiation and the decision.
FORD AND DOMESTIC VEHICLE EXPERTISE
If the vehicle you are considering is a Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, or another domestic make, you are bringing it to the right place. Our Ford Master Technicians and IDS diagnostic software give us a level of insight into Ford vehicles that most shops cannot match. We can dig deeper into the vehicle history and system health than a basic inspection allows.
