ready to get started?
Not sure what your vehicle needs? Let us figure it out.
That little tire pressure warning light on your dashboard might seem like a minor annoyance, but ignoring it can lead to serious safety issues and costly tire damage. At Martel Automotive Services, our technicians are fully equipped to diagnose, replace, and reprogram your Tire Pressure Monitoring System quickly and correctly.
TPMS sensors are small battery-powered devices mounted inside each wheel. They constantly monitor your tire pressure and send alerts when pressure drops below a safe level. Over time, sensors can fail, lose battery life, or lose their programming, especially after a tire rotation, new tire installation, or wheel swap.
Many shops overlook proper TPMS reprogramming after tire work, leaving your warning light on or your system reading inaccurate pressures. At Martel, we use the proper tools and Ford IDS/FDRS software where applicable to ensure your TPMS system is fully functional and accurate when you leave.
What Causes TPMS Issues?
TPMS problems are more common than most drivers realize. Sensors can fail from age and battery drain, typically after 5 to 10 years. They can also lose their programming after a tire rotation or new tire install if the relearn procedure is not completed properly. Wheel swaps, aftermarket wheels, and even seasonal tire changes can all trigger TPMS faults if not handled correctly.
TPMS Warning Light: What It Means
If your TPMS light comes on solid, one or more tires may be low on pressure. If it flashes before staying on, there may be a faulty sensor or a system malfunction. Either way, our team can diagnose the exact cause and get it resolved fast.
Ford TPMS Specialists
As Ford Master Technicians with real IDS/FDRS diagnostic software, we can perform Ford-specific TPMS relearn procedures that many independent shops cannot. If you drive a Ford and your TPMS system is acting up, we are the shop to call.
