ready to get started?
Not sure what your vehicle needs? Let us figure it out.
At Martel Automotive Services, we service both hybrid and fully electric vehicles. As Ford Master Technicians with real IDS and FDRS diagnostic software, we are uniquely equipped to service Ford hybrid and electric models like the Ford Escape Hybrid, Ford Explorer Hybrid, Ford F-150 PowerBoost, Ford Maverick Hybrid, and the Mustang Mach-E at the same level as the dealership. We also service hybrid and electric models from other domestic and import manufacturers including Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, and more.
Hybrid and electric vehicles require technicians who understand both traditional combustion systems and the advanced electronics that power and manage the electric components. Our team has the training, diagnostic tools, and hands-on experience to handle both sides of that equation.
HYBRID VEHICLES
Hybrid vehicles use a combination of a traditional combustion engine and one or more electric motors powered by a battery pack. The two systems work together to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. Because hybrids have all the components of a conventional vehicle plus an additional electrical system, they require a technician who is comfortable working with both.
The most common hybrid service needs we see include battery pack degradation, cooling system issues that affect battery performance, regenerative braking wear, and software or module faults that require factory-level diagnostic tools to properly identify and resolve.
FULLY ELECTRIC VEHICLES
Fully electric vehicles have no combustion engine and rely entirely on their battery pack and electric motors for power. While EVs have fewer moving parts than a conventional vehicle, they require specialized knowledge and equipment for diagnosis and repair. Issues with the battery management system, charging system, electric motor, or onboard software require a technician with the right tools and training.
For Ford EV models including the Mustang Mach-E, we use FDRS software to perform full system diagnostics, module programming, and software updates at the factory level.
FORD HYBRID AND EV SPECIALIST
If you drive a Ford hybrid or electric vehicle, Martel Automotive Services is the alternative to the dealership. We use the same IDS and FDRS diagnostic software Ford uses, and our Master Technicians are trained specifically on Ford systems. You get dealer-level service and expertise at a better price.
Battery Servicing or Replacement
While the batteries themselves can be expensive, servicing or replacing a hybrid battery isn't. It can be dangerous and requires a licensed professional to do so, however, replacing or repairing your hybrid battery typically won't have you off the road for long. We do a diagnostic check first to see exactly what condition your battery is in to catch issues before they arise!
BATTERY HEALTH AND REPLACEMENT
Battery health is the most critical factor in the long-term performance of any hybrid or electric vehicle. We perform battery diagnostic tests to assess your battery state of health, identify any weak or failing cells, and determine whether reconditioning or replacement is the right course of action. Catching battery issues early can extend the life of your pack significantly and save you from a costly replacement down the road.
